Driving Lesson

Its have been a long long time i didnt touch my dabeliu_y blog.. Now, i am back.
Let tell about my driving lesson. When talking about driving, my friends would surprisingly ask: "You born at 3rd of Jan, but you dont have your driving license yet?" Ok, I had been in a boarding school during Form 4 and Form 5, and after my secondary schooling, i went to National Service, then I had to attend (fruitless) interviews for a month before I started to take the law exam at the end of april. Besides that, my driving school had a lot of student ( I should be proud of this actually ) which made I had to take the 3-hour-practical driving lesson to get license L in May. Ok, then I have to enrol in matriculation college on 26 May and cant continue the ten-hour driving lesson.
Today i finally attended the ten-hour-driving lesson. However, i need to pay RM35 to renew my license L (conclusion: driving needs a lot of money). At first, I thought the driving school instructor would going to teach me to drive on the road which will be very exciting and fun. But, he reteached me the skills to go up hill, to park car and to make the u-turn. Oh, i still could not do well for this three basic skills.
(1) The car slided down when i pulled up the hand brake, fortunately i know how to press brake.
(2) I knocked down a few post when i parked my car. This was so embrassing. *shy*

This afternoon i got to learn driving on 4 to 6 pm.

Those memories still fresh (Last)

Two years in MRSM Beseri was finally passed. MRSM Beseri had help me to develop a disipline and mature personality. I had become more confident to express my opinion, i started to love who i am, not too mind about what others think of me and not shy to greet and talk to strangers.
I was also choosen to represent school, which will never happen in my lower secondary school. i know other races custom better than before. I can channel my creativity in decorate my room and through art projects in school.

School tangki
"What if i am still in my lower secondary school now?"
"I shall be telling this with a sigh
.....
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
~~The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost

Yeah, somehow i had taken the ones less traveled by, it does made me different from others.

"Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back."
~~The Road Not Taken

Therefore, it was useless to regret what you have walked. You could not U-turn anyway. All you have to do is to focus on the junction to see your future destination. Right turn? Left turn? Straight ahead?
Maybe the rewards can't be seen now but later in a few years.
Maybe i shall be grateful enough for granted the Matriculation after appeal, although I am still hoping for another path.

I am not regret to study at MJSC Beseri.

Those memories still fresh (3)

My Form 5 block--- Block F. My cube-- DF 26. My cubemates- Wawa, Umi, Jun. In this cube, i would always have kenduri , an eating gathering with our DF 27 neighbours--Zainab, Liyana, Miza. The home-cook curry they brought after returning to MRSM Beseri was savoury. They also knew i didn't eat beef and they won't serve me with beef.

Well, my nons-junior only consisted of 2 chinese guys and 1 indian girl.

The red board was my motivation board. Actually the reason i put this board on my wall was just to cover the rude words that had been scribbled by the previous resident. Do you notice the bear on the board? I drew it and i really like that bear very much. Whenever i felt lazy to study, i would glance at my motivation words on that board to increase my momentum. I even listed down the thing-to-do to cope with the busy schedule of form 5. That cow card was given by Lyn Maye and the chinese new year card was presented by Jia Lin.

This was the letter posted back by Miss Tan, who was my chinese teacher during form4 in MRSM Beseri. I wrote the chinese essay to her so that she could mark my essay.

I also went through the mock interview to help me gain experience of interview.

Those memories still fresh (2)

*Drum roll* Then comes my friend, Lyn Maye. She was the one who went to find me in my cube. My cube if DB 25, and hers DB 24. Neighbour. We ate in Dewan Selera together, preped together. She always knew what i think, and when i was down, she would lend her shoulder for me to cry. After the orientation week, we seemed like had seperated with the non-seniors. And i had completely forgotten the name of the senior. In order to remember the seniors names, we created names for them. Jiaxin sured had the "Four flat" title, and Choon Seong, because of his ability to walk with no sound, and sometimes when he passed, we did not even aware of it, so he was the "Silent Walker" (Sorry, choon seong, just want to tell the truth). And sometimes, we even complained when some senior didnt smile to us. Haha! I admitted we like to gossip about people and always ended up with giggles. Haha! But at semester two, our relationship with senior had become close.

In this classroom, 4D, where lyn and I always preped with each other.

Jia Lin was an active and out-spoken girl. But since her cube was in block F, i seldom met her. When talking about her, i had to say that she was a smart girl and nice to chat with.

At the mid-year of Form 4, i wanted to transfer back to my lower secondary school for a few reasons, but Chiew Yee had consulted me to stay on. Really thanks to her because without her, i might not become excellent in my study at MRSM Beseri.

wenying, fatin, intan, azimah, asma, dini, alia--- my classmate

Those memories still fresh (1)

I still remembered the first day I stepped into MRSM Beseri, wearing my lower secondary school t-shirt -- SMART-B, short haired. The day before that, when i went to lower secondary school to sign the "School Leaving Certificate", unbelievably, I cried and hugged my friends. Frankly, I was reluctant to go to the boarding school, especially when I imagined I was the only Chinese girl there.

When i reached MRSM Beseri, Chu Huan is the first person who greets me. She wore spectacle and wore an adorable smile, which made me felt warm. When i entered the school hall, one of the staff could not even recognise my gender.

Oh! Therefore from that day on, i sweared to leave my hair long.

Then, when i sat down in the hall, Choon Seong and Hui Ting approached me, telling me the schedule of MRSM Beseri, and made me relieve that there were still have a lot of Chinese senior to guide me.

During the orientation which organized by Nons senior, I choose Poh Hee to be my model, and i decorate her with a Hawayi-girl style। At the beginning, i was quite nervous to see others keep decorating their models, while i stood stonily there, thinking of how to make the fashion. After some time, i managed to do a newspaper singlet, newspaper gaun for her, a newpaper flower crown (what is 花圈in english?.. i am quite confuse) and also two hand-bangles. During the persentation, Lim (Woei Shyong) is the main judge (the senior told). I admitted i was quite trembled when i gave my explanation in ENGLISH. Oh my God, i never did the presentation in english, and i felt like crying. The seniors even asked a question, " Hawayi girl should not wear singlet, right? She should wear ..." Oh, at that moment, I completely ran out of idea. Fortunately, Poh Hee explained ,“This is Beseri." And for the newspaper fashion design, i became the winner(no prize), quite surprising, because i think the others fashion was superior than me. Maybe my model was beautiful, haha!

Then about my communication with cube-mates. On the first week, i did not understand a single word when they talked in their bahasa pasar. But my cube-mates were kind enough to speak bahasa baku wif me. I really like my cube-mates. They never saw the colour of skin when they mingled with you. I still remember Zainab ask a Malay friend to apologise to me when that friend broke my mp3 earphone and pretend nothing happened. I still remember Rawiah helped me to hang my clothes when my ankle sprained. And also Sofiyana, who helped me in Additional Mathematics. When the examination was around the corner, i usually gave tuition to my cube-mates, because i dont know how to pay their caring deed(can i say like this, i mean the phrase). When our hostel was known as haunted, we even slept together by combining beds. Before sleeping during the haunted period, the would recite their prayer while i recited mine, for blessing. I think this was called the unity of different races, and this is so Malaysia, and i like it very much.

KPLSPM interview

I woke up at 5.45 am to prepare to go to Institut Perguruan Tuanku Bainum, which is situated at Mengkuang. Before this, the only thing I knew about Mengkuang is the Mengkuang Dam Park where my family always go to jog.

We started our journey at 6.45 am, reaching there at 7.05 am. We are actually arrived one hour before the interview session start. We all thought that the institute is very far away from our house, yet we are reaching there after 20 minutes..

My panel was Panel A. I met a chinese guy who had finished his STPM. Then the INSAK test began. This is the time i realised the important of a watch. Before the interview, i even declined to bring the watch when asked by mum because my handphone can display time. Why should i bring an unuseful thing right? No, i was wrong. There was no clock in the interview room and I had to rush to complete the 135 question. Thankfully, there was still 5 minutes after i completed the test.

After that, comes the group interview. For my panel, 6 student should come, but out of the number, only the chinese guy and me turned up. For the B and C panel, the situation even worse. There were only two malay girl turn up for each panel respectively. The attendance rate was really pathetic. And think, how should both of the girls conduct their group discussion? Therefore, four of us formed a group.

The group discussion was mainly about leadership. There were two question written: " Based on your experience and observation, what is a good leader should exhibited?"(not really remember) and "what is the advice you want to give to your junior about the leadership?". At first, I did not really have point in my mind. I was getting quite nervous when i saw others joiting down the point furiously on their paper. Oh ya, remember to bring your own paper and pen. They won't provide us. Fortunately before the discussion started, i braved myself to get some paper from my bag and i give some of the paper to the chinese guy.

Something struck my head suddenly. Oh ya, I could tell them my position in the school and eleborate the point, such as how to lead a society etc. In this way, I could boost my position in my school as well.

I was satisfied with my performance although i did not done well. I liked to be the opposition sometimes. When others were saying about the leader should be a joker, I told them sometimes meeting should not take to much about personal thing. When others were saying leader should listen to others opinion, I told them leader should also be able to make decision on their own, if the leader want to take everyone opinions, the final decision could not come out.

For the individual interview, it was the two to one interview. The chinese guy went in first. The interviewer asked him about the discipline in school. For me, the interviewer asked my about national service, no introduce-myself beginning. Then the interviewer asked me about how the mentor-mentee helps me in teaching(i wrote this in the penyataan hasrat). This one, i told them i about i related the concept with the daily life to help my mentee to understand. I also say that this help me to gain passion on teaching.

Then, they asked me about tuition:
You have good result. Do you go for tuition?
I am from MRSM, so i didnt go tuition. ( i should elaborate more: MRSM is a boarding school)
What do you think of tuition? Advantages and disadvantages?
(Tell them both..)

(I forgetted what they asked in the middle)

Last question :But when you become teacher, you will give tuition also...
I dont think I will have time to give tuition, I would have many activities in school and need to take care for my child (just for elaboration during interview) . Besides that, I am satisfied with the teacher's salary.

After that is the english writing test. With no watch, I still managed to finish it in 20 minutes. The essay question is " My family" and " How to be a great speaker". At first i was wondering which to write, then i choose to write MY FAMILY. There had been a long time i didnt touch english essay, therefore, i only used one bombastic word in the essay. Quite bad..

11 am, I went home with my mother.

Dermologica

Dermologica is a international facial product brand (is this grammatically correct?) that had improved my skin condition.

I was introduced to Dermologica when i was in Form 2, by my third aunt (can i say like this??)who worked as the beautician for the Dermalogica Company, when my skin was scattered (is this grammatically correct again?) with pimples. I was hesitated to believe the effectiveness of the Dermologica product as it was too expensive and I did not see any improvement on my face, after I used it for a week.

However, when my cousin who is one day younger than me paid a visit to me during holiday after PMR, I was stunned when saw the flawless face of her. Her face is so smooth and pearly white (can i use the adjective like this?) without any pimple or scar on it. She was now so pretty that she unintentionally invited the stares of men wherever she went. What was the most important is, she was using Dermologica product as well! Then I knew it was something to do with my attidude. I had never wash my face so frequently that my cousin did. Sometime, I was even lazy to clean my dirty face before I went to bed ( dont laugh at me.. ).
Therefore, from that day on, I follow the strict timetable to wash my face, three wash per day.
My face had improved when I was in form 4, but become worsen during form 5 as the important examination, SPM was coming, but still, if compared with form 2 and form 3, form 5 was better.
And after SPM, when I went to National Sevice, the scohrching ( i dont know how to spell it) sun kept burnt my face dark. Therefore, beside using sunblock there, I apply a whitening serum every night, however, the whitening could not even save my dark face.
Now, when i come back from NS, my face pimples reduced much more. I hardly spot any pimple or scar on my face. I am really satisfied with my face condition now. Thanks to Dermologica (like making a advertisement)!!

The Dermalogica product is extremely costly, but my mum still dont want to tell me the real price for the product. I just know I can have discount from my aunt. But since my face is ok now, my mum insults (have such word?) me to use another cheaper facial products. Friends, any idea?

Prepare for KPLSPM interview

7 books to read for Kursus Perguruan Lepas Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (KPLSPM)!! I am really go for the interview!!!

According to the elder people, teacher is a good profession with many perks and long holidays. However now, the teaching occupies a much lower rung of respectablility compared with before and is not viewed as a profession of choice for various reasons: heavy workload, overbearing parents, lack of promotion prospects and being posted to remote areas.

Actually, this ambition never crose over my mind until I saw KPLSPM--Program Penghantaran Pelajar Cemerlang ke Universiti Terkemuka Luar Negara... Wow, a scholarship that can send you to oversea!

Therefore, I had gone through the reseach of teacher profession and found that I am suitable for this profession. I used to become the mentor for Addition Mathematics and Chemistry in MJSC Beseri and I have the passion to teach until my mentee fully understand what I teach. I felt greatly satisfied when I know that they are going to use that knowledge to score in their examination and then as the basic skill in their job later.

Therefor, I has to work hard for the interview, INSAK test(test about teacher personality) and an english essay to be write on the spot ( there has been a long long time I do not write the english essay!!).
