I missed the date to apply for preborn as I am pregnant over Week 35 now. So I am looking and searching for insurance for my newborn.
My husband has company insurance which covers RM35,000
(Overall per disability limit for Family Package) so I guess I can find for a
medical insurance which has deductible to reduce my premium.
Prudential agent quoted me:
Monthly premium: RM90
Life sum assured: RM50,000
Accident death: RM20,000
Accident reimbursement: RM3,000
Essential Child Plus: RM50,000
Lifetime limit: RM1,000,000
Deductible: RM20,000
Allianz agent quoted me:
130/mth
Life 5k
Med 150
Annual limit 850k
Lifetime unlimited
Deductible 10k
CI (late stage) 100k
Waiver
Looks like Prudential is give a better value.
However, I think
The problem that makes me hard to choose is the Critical
Illness.
Prudential Critical Illness
Essential Child Plus from Prudential covers
20%
(1) severe asthma,
(2) severe epilepsy, or
(3) glomerulonephritis with nephrotic syndrome
100%
(4) Leukeamia,
(5) Insulin Dependent Diabetes Melitus,
(6) Rheumatic Fever with Valvular impairment
(7) Kawasaki disease with heart complications
(8) Severe juvenile Rheumatiod Arthritis
(9) Intellectual impairment due to illness or accident
(10) Severe Haemophilia A and Hemophilia B
I think Allianz quote me for CI is HealthCover Plus which has additional 7 covers for juvenile but the catch is that it has Juvenile Lien.
So based on the Critical Illness analysis, I think I would just go for Prudential one as Juvenile Lien makes me feel weird.
So in conclusion, I would pick Prudential Insurance for my new born
